G4S Wackenhut Launches Online Training With New Web site
Wackenhut Training Institute (WTI), G4S Wackenhut's training and research center, recently launched its state-of-the-art online training Web site. The Learning Management System (LMS) was designed specifically for the 38,000 G4S Wackenhut employees who deliver unrivaled security solutions to commercial, industrial, and government organizations across the United States.

Food System Emergency Preparedness Training Being Offered
Two courses designed to help Pennsylvania's agricultural industry, emergency responders and public health officials plan for, detect and protect against agroterrorism threats are now open for enrollment, said Agriculture Secretary Dennis Wolff.

The courses, "Principles of Preparedness for Agroterrorism and Food Systems' Disasters" and "Principles of Detection and Diagnosis - Strategies and Technologies," will be offered on Wednesday, Jan. 21 and Thursday, Jan. 22, at the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture building.

Survey Finds SMBs Lack Sufficient Data Loss Prevention Practices
SMBs are particularly susceptible to data loss, and many are not adequately prepared to protect important information, a survey finds.

An independent study commissioned by Cupertino, Calif.-based software security firm Symantec found that small and medium-size businesses are susceptible to data loss and are aware of the importance of backup practices.

Survey Unveils Gap In Ways Some Manage Cyber Risks
A recent Carnegie Mellon University CyLab survey of corporate board directors reveals a gap in board and senior executive oversight in managing cyber risks.

Based upon data from 703 individuals (primarily independent directors) serving on U.S.-listed public company boards, only 36 percent of the respondents indicated that their board had any direct involvement with oversight of information security.
