Report Finds Cybercriminals Winning In Losing Economy
Amid the global downturn in the economy, cybercrminals appear to be winning in the war against law enforcement according to a recently released McAfee report.

"We saw the cybercriminals take advantage of economic messaging very, very quickly," said Dave Marcus, director of security research and communications for McAfee Avert Labs. He said cybercriminals are cashing in on consumer anxiety, particularly around the holidays and noted that as more and more people go online looking for better deals, criminals are preying on their inexperience in order to lure them to bogus sites and old-fashioned "get rich quick" scams.

Security Finds More Uses At NFL Games
Professional football fans are embracing new text-messaging systems that allow them, in NFL stadiums, to inconspicuously report disorderly neighbors without confronting them, a provocative tactic many of the league's 32 teams are using to enforce the conduct code.

The sweeping attempt to decrease misbehavior in stadiums and parking lots is a "work in progress," says Milt Ahlerich, the NFL's vice president of security. But the initiative, he says, "absolutely is working."

Survey Finds Fraud Abundant, More So Around Holidays
Almost one in five New York state Internet users received a notification from their bank or credit card issuer in the last year saying personal or financial information had been compromised according to a survey by Consumer Reports WebWatch.

There's good news, and there's bad news," said Beau Brendler, director of WebWatch. "People in New York are dealing with spam, fake lottery scams and some privacy concerns. But a significant number of us still have much to learn about protecting ourselves from con artists, fraudsters and other criminals on the Internet."
