Sensis reaches deal to be acquired by Saab
East Syracuse, New York-based Sensis Corp., the air traffic management technologies company with offerings that includeAirport Surface Detection Equipment-X (ASDE-X) and runway status lights, reached a definitive agreement last week to be acquired by Sweden's Saab for $155 million. [MORE]
TSA cracks down following 'improper screening' at Honolulu International
US Transportation Security Administration last month proposed "the removal of more than 30 Honolulu International Airport TSA employees following an extensive investigation into allegations of improper screening of checked baggage," the agency said in a statement. [MORE]
Detroit Metro land to be used to farm bioenergy crops
Detroit Metro operator Wayne County Airport Authority said it has agreed to partner with Michigan State University Extension to grow, harvest and process bioenergy crops on the property of DTW and another of the authority's airports, Willow Run. [MORE]
Airports weigh in on UK ADP debate
As debate and lobbying on the controversial Air Passenger Duty in the UK intensified last month, Glasgow Prestwick Airport urged the UK government to scrap the ADP and devolve it to the Scottish government to permit a joined-up approach to economic development. [MORE]
