Lebanon, Ohio has selected Atlanta-based Mueller Systems to upgrade its combined water and electric infrastructure with an advanced metering infrastructure network that will link more than 9,000 electric and 7,000 water service connections within the combined utility's service area. The project will automate the meter reading-to-billing process and link meters, distribution sites and control devices in a single data network.
The Orange County, Calif., Water District has contracted with Los Alamitos, Calif.-based KDC Systems, an EMCOR company, to install and/or integrate process control systems for the expansion of existing water purification facilities in Fountain Valley, Calif. The project will expand capacity of the facilities from 70 million gallons per day (mgd) to 100 mgd, as well as add storage and pumping facilities for excess flow.
Long Beach, Calif., has contracted with Redwood Shores, Calif.-based Oracle Utilities to replace a 32-year-old customer information system with an integrated utility platform, which supports customer care, billing, credit and collections and payment processing along with real-time field service scheduling, dispatch and communication. The project is one of several legacy computer system replacements planned in the city over the next five years.
