Contracts and Awards Announcements
The Jacksonville, Ala., Police Department has contracted with Winter Park, Fla.-based Architects Design Group, in association with McElrath & Oliver Architects, to design a new Public Safety and Municipal Complex. Phase one will include 46,879 square feet for the Fire Department, Police Department, Municipal Jail, and Municipal Court as well as an additional 13,466 square feet for the City Hall. Construction of the $13.3 million complex is scheduled for completion in 2013.

The Baltimore Bureau of Water and Wastewater has contracted with Fairfax, Va.-based Dewberry to provide water design and engineering services. The $1 million contract focuses on improvements to eight miles of the city’s aging water mains. The work includes water main assessment and determination of the need to rehabilitate or replace the existing infrastructure, design, construction documentation and cost estimating.

The Chicago Park District has contracted with the San Diego-based Active Network to provide an e-commerce recreation management system to operate facilities, including 250 staffed park recreation centers, 500 baseball fields, pools, fitness centers, dog parks, museums, golf courses, harbors and beaches. The online system will allow residents to browse park programs, register online, purchase permits, use special-use facility rentals, find event tickets, and make park resource reservations. Locally based Clarity Partners will manage the integration of the ActiveNet software with the Chicago Park District’s current management system.
