Workpiece supports
Three styles of spring-loaded work supports are now available that are ideal for the accurate positioning and orientation of workpieces for machining, fabrication and inspection layouts. The fixturing supports are offered in four block-type sizes, five cylinder-type sizes and three miniature versions.
The supports allow users to locate foundation pieces virtually anywhere on a fixture base where workpiece support is required, following contours, shoulders, different diameters and varying heights. The supports help stabilize the piece, and assure that clamping devices hold secure, preventing chatter and/or deflection of parts when under loads and machining forces. Read the full story here

New grade for milling steel
A new grade is available for milling steel and tool steels with relatively thin average chip thickness. The new grade is especially effective in square shoulder and copy milling applications where wear resistance and tool life need to be improved. In these applications, the grade has shown a 40% increase in tool life and up to a 200% increase in machined components, as compared with competitive steel machining grades. Inserts and tools for heavy machining
This company has expanded its turning and application range with new inserts and tools produced with new grades. New WNMX, CNMX and DNMX inserts have high positive radial, helical cutting edges and positive rake angles, which is a combination that substantially reduces cutting forces. Their corner angle is 88 degrees for increased strength.
The company also has introducing new leverlock external holders for its CNMX 55x, WNMX 45x Heliturn LD inserts and new boring bars for the CNMX 45x, WNMX 45x. Heliturn LD inserts. As a result of the inserts’ cutting edge and rake configuration, the new tools enable internal turning at high machining parameters, exerting low cutting forces and reducing vibrations.
