In their latest U.S. Manufacturing Technology Consumption report,
the American Machine Tool Distributors’ Assn. and the Association for
Manufacturing Technology indicate that sales of machine tool equipment
and components increased 16% during November, totaling $178.83 million
for the month.

Recently released production data indicates that global stainless
steel production fell 15% through the first three quarters of 2009,
compared to 2008, though the trend in the last quarter of that period
indicated a rise of 12.5% from July through September.
