It's not the
price, it's the results
We’ve been busy at PRINT 09—look for more news in
our next issue!
Thanks to Bob Lindgren, president of the Printing Industries Assn., Inc.
of Southern California (www.piasc.org) for providing the
following point to ponder.
Says Lindgren: “Firms who constantly complain about disloyal clients,
price-cutting competitors and the commoditization of print are still
selling price: ‘Give me the specs and I’ll give you a quote.’
Firms who have broken out of that mold have discovered the power of
selling results — what is the client’s ROI on the project? The bad
news is that this is hard work because the rep really has to learn the
client’s business and analyze the opportunities. The good news is that
once we’ve refocused on results (and their big numbers) the price of
the printing is no longer an issue.”
As always, thanks for reading.

See the future
of wide format at SGIA in October
“Wide-format digital printing offers new solutions
that add value and help commercial printers foster new business
growth,” said Michael Robertson, SGIA’s President and CEO.
“Looking to the future, commercial printers will find it difficult to
compete without some kind of digital imaging capability. The ability to
provide a wide-range of imaged products will be increasingly valued —
and expected — by the customer.” Learn more at 2009 SGIA Expo, Oct.
