it appears that more and more trucking companies are already using
fuel-efficient tread designs and rubber compounds. On a major scale, the

Lighter wheel, more benefits
The new LvL One 24.5 in. aluminum wheel from Alcoa Wheel and
Transportation Products offers a load rating that is 450 lbs. higher
than alternative steel options, the company said. Weighing 30 lbs. less
than a typical steel wheel in the 24.5 x 8.25 in. category, the wheel
comes with a 7,850-lb. rating, highest in its class, Alcoa said.
