Feedback
|
Discipline and
judgment
Last week, we asked what readers thought about Texas relaxing
its adherence to zero-tolerance school discipline policies. Here is some
of your feedback:
- "We should move away from zero tolerance because of the narrow
parameters it imposes," says one reader. "You have to trust the
school’s administration to do the right things, especially when it
comes to discipline."

This week, New York City schools, in an effort to limit
students' consumption of sugar and fat at school, have
effectively prohibited most bake sales, The New York Times
says. Do you think this is a wise decision?
A. Yes. If schools want their students
to adopt better nutrition habits, it should take steps to discourage
unhealthful eating.
B. No. In a time of budget hardships for
many schools, administrators shouldn't take away one of the best ways to
supplement school finances.
C. Other.
What do you think?

them online at Schoolhouse Beat-The Blog.
