Audio
Izotope RX Plug-ins
Izotope RX audio restoration plug-ins, feature the essential tools for cleaning and restoring audio. Available for VST, Audio Unit, MAS, Pro Tools (RTAS, Audio Suite), and DirectX, the plug-ins are now included with the award-winning stand-alone version. Current RX customers will be able to download the update free of charge. RX removes hiss and buzz, eliminates clicks and crackles, and repairs overload distortion in audio. New intelligent Spectral Repair algorithms can even analyze and fill gaps in audio files to restore previously unusable recordings.

Mediatron Streamcube
Streamcube is able to transmit audio signals economically via IP-based networks such as LAN, WAN and Internet (DSL) and over long distances to several receivers or to a Shoutcast/Icecast Server. The Streamcube series consists of Encoder (Audio-to-Ethernet) and Decoder (Ethernet-to-Audio) and is suitable likewise for permanent and temporary installation. The encoded audio signal can either be transmitted within a building complex via CAT5 Ethernet LAN-cable and standard networkswitches to one or more devices from the StreamCube DEC series or to PCs. The bitrate and sampling-frequency are adjustable for different sound qualities (MP3) in mono or stereo. The controlling and administration of the Streamcube works with a Web browser-based application via PC, PDA or an other Web-based device.

Vorsis AM10-HD
The AM10-HD offers a five-band AGC followed by a specialized 10-band limiter and high performance asymmetrical modulation peak controller algorithm that has been specially designed for the requirements of competitive AM broadcasting. This new peak controller maximizes AM coverage by providing the highest possible average modulation accompanied by consistent positive peak capability of up to 200% percent. Selectable low-pass filters are available to tailor the output for the requirements of various regulatory needs. The HD signal path includes its own specialized multiband peak controller which has been tailored for the codec that is utilized in AM HD broadcasting.

Facilities
Axel Technology Mr. Light LED
Mr. Light LED is a compact and efficient signaling device, ideal for radio studios, recording suites, T.V. and radio control rooms. An internal high-intensity LED array provides optimal visibility in any environmental light condition. As an option, Mr. Light LED is also available in the double-sided version, featuring two illuminated faces. Warning texts (such as on air, silence, etc.) are printed on transparent films and can be chosen from the standard range or customized for your application. The display can be constantly illuminated or blinking, and easily modified by replacing the film. With the included bracket, Mr. Light is easily mounted to the wall or to the ceiling. An optional, additional bracket is available to allow for easy flag mounting.

Dramer M-Clock Lite
The Drawmer M-Clock Lite is a simple, high quality AES Grade 1 master clock generator. It offers a streamlined and future-proof clock that syncs to rates up to 384kHz with an accuracy to 2ppm. In addition to the internal precision word clock, an external clock input allows the user to select an alternative clock source without having to re-route clock cables. M-Clock Lite features 10 word clock outputs, eight at the rear plus two on the front panel for easy access when the unit is rack-mounted.

Studio Technologies Model 46
The Model 46 is designed to interface two-wire full-duplex party-line intercom circuits with four-wire audio circuits associated with matrix intercom systems. Other specialized audio system interfacing applications can also be supported. The Model 46 provides two independent full-featured two-channel interfaces. Each interface contains two hybrid circuits that include automatic nulling capability. The analog circuitry, under software control, provides excellent audio quality and high return-loss. The interfaces are compatible with powered and unpowered two-wire party-line circuits. They are capable of supplying dc power, allowing direct operation of devices such as user belt packs. Configuration settings allow the two- and four-wire interface circuitry to be compatible with a range of nominal signal levels. Audio level meters provide user confirmation of system performance during setup and operation. Applications for the Model 46 include television sports and special event broadcasting, theme park and theater installations, corporate events, and industrial testing environments. Standard audio connectors are used for all input and output signals. The Model 46 mounts in one space of a standard 19-inch rack enclosure and requires 100-240V, 50/60Hz for operation.

Microphones
Audio-Technica AT8004, AT8004L
Audio-Technica’s AT8004 omnidirectional dynamic microphone is designed for on-location interviews/sports broadcasting. It offers clear and natural reproduction and features internal shock mounting that minimizes handling and cable noise. The microphone’s polar pattern is ideal for reproduction of surrounding ambience. Its rugged housing with hardened-steel grille stands up to field use. The mic is also available as the AT8004L, with an extended-length handle with room for a microphone flag. It is ideal for interviews, sports broadcasting and as the mono mic used with a stereo microphone. The AT8004L is designed for on-location interviews and sports broadcasting. Its extended-length handle provides ample room for a microphone flag. The microphone offers exceptionally natural reproduction. Internal shock mounting minimizes handling/cable noise. The microphone’s omnidirectional polar pattern is ideal for reproduction of surrounding ambience. Its rugged housing with hardened-steel grille stands up to field use.

Henry Engineering Mixer Mate
This unit provides the needed radio studio control to use a live sound or PA mixer in a radio studio. Mixer Mate adds three functions to the mixer: on/off control of up to four microphones, monitor mute when a microphone is in use and control of on-air studio warning lights. Mixer Mate provides mic on/off control for up to four microphones. Its monitor mute programming feature allows the user to program which mics will activate the monitor muting function. It also interfaces to a Superelay, to control on-air tally lights. Mixer Mate is compatible with any mixer that provides a process insert on the mic channels.

MXL Microphones V88
A general-purpose recording instrument, the V88 is a large diaphragm, pressure-gradient, condenser microphone with fully balanced transformerless output. Internally wired with Mogami cable, the mic features a large 32mm capsule with a gold-sputtered diaphragm in a cardioid polar pattern. The capsule delivers a frequency response from 20Hz through 20kHz thanks to the microphone's Class A electronics. Featuring a nickel-plated finish and a low profile form factor of less than 6-inches in overall height, the mic ships with a protective aluminum flight case. A shockmount adapter is also included as part of the package.

Bird Electronic Signal Hawk
Signal Hawk is a 100kHz - 3.6GHz spectrum analyzer with -135dBm noise floor. Its large high-resolution display is full color and indoor/outdoor-viewable. The analyzer has been drop tested per military and European standards. It has worldwide applications with single-button measurements for occupied bandwidth, channel power, adjacent channel power ratio, field strength, AM/FM Demod, C/I and more.

Deva Broadcast Band Scanner
The Band Scanner is a simple, low-cost scanning receiver for FM market analysis. This is a market monitoring tool intended to station engineers, managers and program directors. The Band Scanner can create detailed playlist reports for any station, broadcasting artist and song title information with Radio Text. Managers and program directors can compare their own RDS text rotations to other stations in the market. Engineers can monitor real-time field intensity data for any station, as well as review strip charts for analysis of the entire band. Precision MPX peak deviation meter is included in the product.

Winradio WR-G33WSM
A high-performance, low-cost receiver and spectrum analyzer developed for wireless mics and other wireless audio devices. The receiver's frequency range covers all standard wireless mic and other VHF/UHF frequencies used in audio production, including the FM broadcast band and point-to-point communications. Highly sensitive, easy to interface with standard laptops and PCs and optimized to work with short VHF/UHF antennas, the receiver is also simple to install and intuitive to use. The scanning function maps the radio spectrum environment of a particular location to determine available frequencies and allocate wireless mics to the available channels. The entire spectrum environment of each venue can be saved and recalled later, to save time during the next visit. The receiver connects to a PC via the supplied USB cable. The frequency range is : 30Hz to 1,000Hz. It operates on 12Vdc at 600mA.

Remotes
Edirol R-44
The R-44 is a compact, four channel, solid-state field recorder that uses SD or large capacity SDHC cards as the storage media enabling quiet and reliable recording for a variety of professional audio needs. Capture up to four channels of uncompressed audio with selectable bit depths (16- or 24-bit) and sampling frequencies (44.1kHz/48kHz/88.2kHz/96kHz/192kHz). Onboard effects include limiter, low-cut filter, 3-band EQ, 6-band GEQ, Enhancer and DeEsser. Weighing in at just less than 3 lbs, including batteries, the R-44 is a great high quality recording solution for sound designers to take anywhere. Built-in microphones and speakers make recording and monitoring without external devices possible.

Foneshow Breaking News
Breaking News offers a free, advertising-based solution to news organizations seeking a more efficient platform to distribute information to their audience. By leveraging the cellular telephone network, it enables reporters to file stories on-site as news breaks and allows producers to distribute information to virtually any wireless phone in the world using Foneshow’s patent pending technology. As a story is filed it is instantly sent to a producer or editor, who merely has to add a headline and any necessary text to publish the Foneshow. Audience members sign up to receive news alerts on a content provider’s website, and as soon as news breaks they receive a text message with an embedded phone number to call and listen to the audio report of the news. Foneshow has the capability to incorporate audio brands and any pre-roll audio sponsorships into each Breaking News segment, thus presenting an additional source of revenue. The breaking news solution works with any cell phone and Foneshow supplies the software, set-up and training at no additional charge, allowing a smooth transition to moving into the mobile space.

Sound Devices 788T
Designed specifically for multi-track on-location productions, the eight-track 788T features a significant expansion of input and output capability – eight full-featured microphone inputs and eight tracks of recording. The eight inputs, together with a thoroughly revised digital architecture, provide unprecedented recording flexibility. In a stainless-steel and aluminum chassis weighing less than four pounds, the 788T accommodates individual controls and connectors for each input, plus numerous additional I/O and data connections. To accommodate the larger data storage requirements of multi-track recordings, the 788T comes with a 160GB 2.5" internal SATA hard disk drive. This on-board storage provides up to 30 hours of eight-track, uncompressed 24-bit audio recording of industry-standard Broadcast WAV files. To transfer recorded audio, the 788T features high-speed access to both the internal hard drive and connected Compact Flash medium.

The new software includes Starfish display that literally allows users to see what they are hearing when listening in surround sound.

RCS Updates Gselector
RCS has again updated Gselector and released Gselector 3.7.0.

Logitek Adds Enhancements to TV and Radio Consoles
For radio and TV users, other software enhancements include support for 5.1 metering in the Vscreen software suite and the Vchange fader display pop-up utility, greatly enhanced trigger table sizes for automatic functions, and updated fader detail in Logitek’s Supervisor software to reflect enhanced Artisan control surface capabilities.

Yamaha Updates Digital Mixers
The new 01V96VCM and 02R96VCM models retain the V2 features and add VCM effects pre-installed.

RTW Introduces Loudness Family
With this line-up, the manufacturer now offers easy-to-use monitoring for loudness of stereo, multi-channel and surround signals in a wide range of applications, as a complement or an alternative to conventional peak meters.

Allen & Heath Ships Zed 4-Bus Series
The Zed 4-Bus series includes the Zed-420 (16 mono and two dual stereo channels), Zed-428 (24 mono and two stereo) and Zed-436 (32 channel and two stereo) mixers.

Axia Adds Touchscreen Timer Panel
Board operators and hosts using Element consoles have access to a full-featured timekeeping suite using console-mounted controls; the Element Touchscreen Timer Panel gives studio guests, producers and show hosts access to these functions as well by way of an elegant, touch-sensitive interface.

Audemat to Release Software v.1.5 for Goldeneagle HD
Goldeneagle HD now includes modulation monitoring for AM frequencies in both real time and recorded measurements.

  • Koch Records has signed an agreement to use the Play MPE System to digitally deliver music to trusted recipients and pre-release content to radio broadcasters.
  • A Klotz Digital Varizone public address system has been selected for the new business and event centre of the five-star Grand Hotel Bad Ragaz in Switzerland.
  • Wheatstone will supply SCMS with three Evolution 6 control surfaces, seven E-Sat I/O frames, two Microsat I/O frames and one Ethernet XY controller for an upcoming KDUS-AM/KUPD-FM project in Tempe, AZ.
  • Oklahoma-based Bartlesville Community Center recently acquired a Fiberplex Light Viper audio transport system.
  • Oregon Public Broadcasting has purchased APT Worldcast Horizon HD units for a new studio to transmitter link.
  • Harris Stratex will provide its Eclipse radios to Team Talk, New Zealand's largest mobile radio network provider.
  • The University of Texas at Austin has chosen Axia consoles and routing systems to power its student-run radio stations.
  • Destiny Media Technologies, the creator of the Play MPE audio distribution network, has signed an exclusive agreement with Curb Records to deliver music using the Play MPE system.
  • NPR's weekly series Jazz Set with Dee Dee Bridgewater broadcasted the award-winning Spanish Harlem Orchestra in concert from the February 2008 Portland (Oregon) Jazz Festival. The program was produced in Neural-THX Surround Sound.
  • Greater Media has chosen Axia Audio to provide a large-scale IP-Audio routing system for their Philadelphia cluster.
  • APT recently supplied the Polish Broadcast Service Provider, TP Emitel, with Worldnet Oslo and Worldnet Rio units for studio to transmitter links over E1.
  • Comrex Corporation's UK distributor, Vortext Communications, has signed a major equipment-supply deal with UK traffic and travel news provider Global Traffic Network to supply Comrex IP Audio Codecs and accessories.
  • India's SUN TV has standardized on Broadcast Electronic's Audio Vault digital media system for all 45 of its FM radio stations licensed to India.
  • Logitek reported Mosaic console system sales to WFAX-AM in Falls Church, VA; and Remora console systems to the University of Montana's KUFM as well as City Talk and Capital Radio London in the U.K.
  • APT's Worldcast Eclipse units were recently used for a live link-up over ISDN to report from the Academy Awards Ceremony in Los Angeles by Australia's Austereo Network.
  • South Central Communications' WJXA-FM and sister station WCJK-FM have ordered two 28-position Element consoles plus a complement of Microphone Nodes, Analog Line Nodes, AES/EBU Line Nodes, a Router Selector Node and Axia Pathfinder PC Router Control Software to be used in their main on-air studios.
  • Pulse 87 FM in New York used the services of Future Media Design to design and build two news studios in preparation for a major format switch.
