Broadcast DSPX-AM
Audio processor
The DSPX-AM includes a wideband window-gated AGC, a four-band
window-gated AGC and a four-band limiter followed by an oversampled
distortion-controlled clipper. A separate look-ahead final limiter
allows simultaneous full 20kHz processing for digital radio. Like its
little brother, the DSPXmini-AM, it also features adjustable low-pass
filtering to accommodate all AM standards, high frequency equalization,
asymmetrical clipping, low frequency transmitter tilt compensation and a
tone generator to facilitate easy installation and adjustment. A range
of factory presets were designed to produce loud and intelligible sound
for talk radio as well as achieve the best fidelity on music formats.
The DSPX-AM is a 1RU processor with front-panel LED metering that is
also remote controllable via TCP/IP or direct serial
connection.

Burk Technology PPM Assurance
Automatic PPM recovery
The PPM Assurance protects ratings and reduces overhead by
constantly monitoring all PPM encoders and providing automatic encoder
toggling. E-mail alerts and exception reporting keep stakeholders up to
date. It is a complete automatic recovery system. In addition to
providing reliable backup encoder activation, the PPM Assurance monitor
establishes direct data connectivity to the Arbitron equipment to verify
code accuracy. And because loss of audio means lost PPM credit, built-in
silence sensing enables swift program recovery. The PPM Assurance also
won a Radio magazine Pick Hit award at the 2009 NAB
Show.

Nautel VS Series
Low-power FM transmitters
The VS Series of low power FM transmitters – using only 2, 3 or
4RU including the exciter – brings Nautel's transmission performance
to broadcasters operating at 300, 1000 or 2500W. In addition to the
products' rugged engineering, the Nautel VS Series is the first in the
industry to incorporate Internet audio I/O and Axia Livewire support in
radio transmitters. Customers using the Axia Livewire protocol will be
able to connect their livewire networks directly to a VS Series
transmitter with a single RJ-45 cable; no intermediary connections or
D/A conversions will be needed.

AEA Technology Pre-Amplifier
RF amplifier
The Pre-Amplifier will provide signal amplification from an antenna
before the signal is received by the AEA VIA Echo, which has a primary
purpose of being a vector impedance analyzer for testing and tuning
antenna systems. When the spectrum analyzer was added, the Echo had a
less-than-desired input sensitivity. The solution was a pre-amplifier
that could work from the Echo's internal NiMH batteries or from ac wall
power via our power adapter. The pre-amplifiers have nominal 44dB
amplification. This results in the Echo's spectrum analyzer having a
nominal -125dBm noise floor.

Bird Technologies Group Signal Hawk SH-36S-PC
Spectrum analyzer
The Signal Hawk SH-36S-PC analyzes the radio frequency spectrum,
measures intended and interfering signals, and allows setup of
parameters such as frequency and amplitude markers. It displays signal
amplitude versus frequency and saves traces on a PC. It is fast,
accurate and sensitive (-135dBm noise floor) with the same spectrum
analyzer functionality as the Signal Hawk handheld and rack-mount units.
It is built in FCC compliance masks, has a waterfall display and a
sophisticated spectrum analysis software package is included with the
product. The Signal Hawk also received a Radio magazine Pick Hit
award at the 2009 NAB Show.

Crane Company CCRadio-2
Radio
The CCRadio-2 has the same familiar look and layout as previous
models of the CCRadio but with even better AM Reception and the addition
of the 2-meter Ham band. The boost in AM performance comes from the
company's Twin-Coil ferrite AM antenna, and other improvements. After
selecting a station, the CCRadio-2 evaluates the signal for several
seconds and then locks in for the highest signal possible. The addition
of the 2-meter Ham band may make it practical for use during an
emergency.
