FTTH now being sold to 10 million U.S. homes
Fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) is now being marketed to more than 10 million North American homes, according to the latest report from RVA Market Research & Consulting, and FTTH networks pass nearly 12 million homes, or nearly 10 percent of all the homes in North America.

Microsoft Mediaroom alumni launch 180Squared
After a year of operating in stealth mode, a team of former Microsoft Mediaroom architects today officially launched their middleware services startup, 180Squared, with a framework for the integration of existing billing/operational support system (B/OSS) applications and third-party software. Hoping to leverage the Microsoft connection, the company’s goal is to ease carriers’ integration of their middleware platforms for the two new IPTV subscriber households Microsoft adds per minute.

Online viewing won’t replace traditional TV anytime soon
