13th: XBRL D-Day
At the end of January, the SEC posted the final rule
mandating XBRL for public companies. Is this a good thing? It depends on
whether or not you're going to take advantage of it. What is certain is
that for publicly held companies, the SEC is expecting XBRL reports

Maryland
Comptroller Urges E-filing in YouTube Spoof
Maryland's comptroller Peter Franchot encouraged state
residents to pay their taxes online in the YouTube video "Real Taxpayers
of Genius," a spoof of a famous series of Bud Light commercials.
"Bringing humor to the otherwise stressful topic of doing taxes is one
way we hope to grab people's attention," Franchot said in a release. See

Runners
Wolf Down Doughnuts Mid-Race
Many people run to lose weight, but in the Krispy
Kreme Challenge, which raises money for North Carolina Children's
Hospital, participants consume far more calories than they burn. The
runners race two miles to a Krispy Kreme shop, eat a dozen glazed
doughnuts, and then run the two miles back. This year's winner, Cameron
Dorn, said, "It's awesome -- gross -- little bit gross, but
awesome."
