Most of the damage was in the office area of the building that houses the club's tanning beds and pool house, reports WSFA-12 News in Montgomery, AL. No injuries were reported, but a few club members suffered from dehydration. The tanning center, offices and pool remained closed after the fire, but the rest of the club was open. "We just started a whole new plan here," Dusty DeVaughn, the club's owner, told WNCF-TV, Montgomery. "We purchased the place in mid-April, and we were going through some renovations and making some changes and trying to upgrade this place, so this definitely puts a bump in the road." *The YMCA of Greater New York (http://ymcanyc.org/index.php), recently recruited four New York Mets players and volunteers from Con Edison (http://www.coned.com/) to paint a white coating on two Bedford-Stuyvesant YMCA roofs in Brooklyn. Con Edison sponsored the coating as a partner in the NYC Cool Roofs (http://www.nyc.gov/html/coolroofs/html/involved/kit.shtml) program, which promotes roofing that conserves energy, curbs global warming and lowers urban air temperatures. *The YMCA and JCC of Greater Toledo (http://www.ymcatoledo.org) Board of Trustees voted unanimously to demolish the South Toledo YMCA building, which was closed in December after a failed membership drive (http://clubindustry.com/nonprofits/South-Toledo-YMCA-Remain-Open-20090820/) to boost revenues. The building will be transformed into green space as part of a park. Local media reported that at least two interested parties offered to buy the 55-year-old building, but the board's announcement of the demolition cited a lack of "viable interest" in the property as the reason for the demolition. *Trump Village Apartments (http://www.trumpvillageapts.com), managed by Apartment Management Associates LLC and owned by Rubin Schron, founder of Cammeby's International Group, is adding a fitness center at Trump Village Apartments II in Brighton Beach, Brooklyn, NY.
