Americans
Want to Improve Health, But Less Than Half Are Successful
SANTA MONICA, CA -- The majority of Americans (86 percent) attempt
to make changes to improve their overall health, but less than half of
those who consider making lifestyle changes (46 percent) are actually
successful, according to a recent survey by Livestrong, the Lance
Armstrong Foundation. Americans listed lack of motivation, lack of money
and lack of time as the top roadblocks to making healthy changes in
their lives. Other factors included lack of tools/resources, lack of
support and lack of knowledge/information.
Livestrong recently launched a new Web site, a for-profit venture, to
motivate Americans to lead a healthier lifestyle, to help them get
answers to medical questions and to connect them with people who have
similar fitness goals or experiences.
