Results in One Week in Jail
LINCOLN, NE -- A 20-year-old was sentenced to one week in jail for
starting a fire in the bathroom of Goodyear Fitness Center in Lincoln,
NE, according to the Lincoln Journal Star. Ricke Masterson Jr.,
who had been banned from the gym, pleaded guilty to third-degree arson,
a misdemeanor. The incident took place on Nov. 3, when a club employee
followed Masterson into the men’s bathroom and discovered a burning
trash can, according to the newspaper.
Masterson was banned from Goodyear Fitness Center after an Oct. 10
incident at the club in which he allegedly aimed a shower head in the
locker room onto some carpet. Masterson also allegedly poured tobacco
from a cigar onto a sauna’s heating element and yelled obscenities as
he left the gym, the newspaper reported. Masterson was cited on

Downtown Y Reopens
NASHVILLE -- The Nashville Downtown YMCA recently reopened after $20
million worth of renovations that doubled its size. The expanded
facility includes a new 160-space parking garage and an additional
66,000 square feet of space, according to Nashville’s NewsChannel5 TV
station. The wellness center quadrupled in size and was moved from the
lower level to the second floor. A private workout mezzanine is now in
place, as is a cardio cinema.
Y officials tell the station that the renovations began after a jump in
membership, which they say is a result of more people moving to downtown
Nashville.
