Argonics,
Inc.
Providing a remedy for delamination in mixer drums,
the company announces that a departure from standard manufacturing
procedure has resulted in a new single-pour urethane liner called
Kryptane Evolution. The liner carries a five-year or 1 million-yard
warranty. If any section of the liner delaminates within the given time
frame, it will be replaced free of charge.
Avoiding the typical process by which liners for central batch plant
mixers are fabricated, i.e., pouring the liner in layers that may
separate as moisture and other contaminants seep between them, the
manufacturer aims to prevent premature liner replacement due to
delamination. Changing the liner before the end of its life expectancy
entails costs in down time, lost production, and labor, the company
emphasizes. Accordingly, the new liner is said to offer reduced labor
requirements and cost per cubic yard of material produced.

Grace Construction
Products
Company officials note that its offerings in Las Vegas
highlight innovation and a commitment to green building.
Total Solution for Self-Consolidating Concrete offers an advanced
approach to the production of highly flowable, self-leveling concrete,
the company asserts. The solution features ADVA Cast 575,
polycarboxylate-based, high-range water-reducing admixture for SCC in
precast/prestressed applications. It also incorporates the Mix
Proportioning System, a proprietary technology that enables field
personnel to custom design SCC mixes to suit specific materials at given
facilities.
AdiaCal and IsoCal field calorimeters are user-friendly
portable devices that offer concrete producers reliable daily quality
control, company representatives note. AdiaCal enables operators to
sample concrete directly from the mixer or batch plant for mix-design
efficiency and to track raw material variability. IsoCal is an
isothermal calorimeter suitable for more sophisticated operators and lab
environments. It allows for temperature control, therefore enabling
in-depth interpretation of data at a greater level of precision.
Building Green With Grace is a new guide highlighting the
company's commitment to green building initiatives. In addition, a new
section launched at the company's website is dedicated to green building
products and practices. Both the guide and interactive web site help
architects and specifiers select products that achieve prerequisites and
points needed to satisfy Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design
(LEED) Green Building Rating System criteria.

Indiana Phoenix,
Inc.
The Standard Glider Program will be offered
along with two new programs featuring a one-year guarantee. Customers
furnish a donor truck, and the manufacturer disassembles the vehicle and
retrieves all usable components to build a Front Discharge Glider Truck.
Donor parts are inspected for defects, steam cleaned, sand blasted, and
painted before assembly. The Glider Truck features an ergonomic cab and
heat-treated frame rails.
The recently introduced Certified Glider Program allows customers
to purchase a donor truck from another company--Indiana Phoenix has
donor resources--in order to keep their own trucks in service. After
disassembling the donor truck, the company reconditions the engine,
transmission, rear tandem axle, front steer axle, transfer case, drum
drive, and hydrostatic pump and motor. A Certified Glider is built using
those certified components, the manufacturer notes, and customers
receive a truck fully warranted for one year at a reported savings up to
30 percent of the cost of a new mixer truck.
Similar to the Certified Glider, the second new offering--the Super
Glider Program--adds factory-warranted remanufactured Cummins
pre-emission engines and factory-warranted remanufactured Allison
transmissions. Essentially, customers obtain a like-new truck with a
one-year warranty and significant savings, the company affirms.
Additionally, trade-ins on trucks or gliders are now accepted.

Komatsu America
Corp.
Replacing the WA200-5, the WA200-6 wheel loader is
powered by an EPA Tier 3 emissions-certified Komatsu SAA4D107E-1 engine
of 126 net hp, which reportedly provides high productivity with low fuel
consumption and minimal noise. The new model has a 23,160- to 23,457-lb.
operating weight and 2.2- to 3.1-cu.-yd heaped bucket capacity. Latest
Komtrax technology sends machine-operating data, such as operating
hours, location and maintenance alerts, to a secure website via wireless
technology.
Additional manufacturer-cited features include: (1) hydrostatic
transmission system for optimal efficiency, which allocates only as much
power as needed for a given application and transmits it to
differentials and the four driving wheels; (2) variable traction
control, eliminating excessive bucket penetration and tire slippage,
with 'S-mode' control of engine speed to provide optimum driving force
on slippery surfaces; (3) maximum breakout force [20,944 lb.], high
static tipping loads [21,363 lb. straight and 18,397 lb. at 40 degrees],
plus greater dumping clearance and reach; (4) easy maintenance and
serviceability, aided by a Komatsu EMMS Equipment Management Monitoring
System that tracks all critical functions; and, (5) increased durability
and reliability, largely due to wet multi-disc brakes and a fully
hydraulic braking system, combined with dynamic braking that reduces
wear on wet disc brakes.
Offering comparable benefits, the new WA250-6 wheel loader replaces the
WA250-5. It has a 25,441- to 25,761-lb. operating weight and a heaped
bucket capacity of 2.5 to 3.5 cu. yd. An EPA Tier 3 emissions-certified
Komatsu SAA6D107E-1 engine of 138 net hp powers the machine. The WA250-6
has a 27,210-lb. breakout force and high static tipping loads [26,367
lb. straight and 23,204 lb. at a 40-degree full turn] to provide
superior power and stability during operation, the manufacturer affirms.
