Terex
Roadbuilding
BOOTH G-200
Company's first seven-axle RD7000 Rear-Discharge
Transit-Mix Truck features a 29-ft. outer bridge length with six axles
under the rear fender. The model delivers an 11-yd. legal concrete
payload or a gross permissible weight of 76,820 lb. at 4,000 lb. per
yard of mix. The RD7000 meets federal bridge standards of 77,000 lbs. at
29 ft. without the need for a trailer axle.
The truck incorporates a 12-yd. drum on a Sterling LT9500 chassis to
reduce the chance for mix spillage. A new low-profile mixer design
results in a lower truck center of gravity for better traction and
enhanced stability on site. The mixer drum's 42-in. opening affords what
product engineers note is quick, efficient discharge of a wide variety
of mixes. Its 3/16-in. abrasion-resistant (AR) skin with 1/4-in. fins
and flights, lined with dual-row rebar, offers consistent concrete
mixing with long service life.
The RD7000 comes standard with a certified pressure vessel 120-psi water
tank for fast cleanup. An exclusive drum wiper system keeps concrete
away from drum rollers, while standard aluminum rear fenders are rust
resistant and lightweight, giving operators more payload capacity. A
four-point attachment with spring-loaded pedestal mounts allows the
mixer mounting brackets to flex when driving over irregular terrain for
longer frame service life.
The driver controls a number of functions from inside the cab: drum
start-stop; mixing direction and speed; discharge chute raise/lower and
position lock; air-flip hopper; working lights; and, air flip hopper
position warning light. An umbilical cord remote control located toward
the rear of the mixer truck controls many of the same drum
functions.

BOOTH G-370
The L528 and L550 wheel loaders' hydrostatic driveline
and unique engine position allow for higher tipping loads at low
operating weight, resulting in up to 25 percent less fuel consumption.
Additionally, the larger wheel loaders are equipped with the 2plus2
gearbox that enables automatic adjustment of tractive force and speed to
suit job requirements without the need to shift.

Hendrickson
BOOTH S-8421
Scheduled for release in mid-2008, design enhancements
to the Primaax heavy-duty air-ride rear suspension include a highly
engineered, new main suspension beam to counter increased weight of new
engine technology and improve reliability for severe vocational
applications. Addressing growing demand for air suspensions across
vocational applications, company officials note, optimized suspension
geometry delivers improved roll stiffness and handling for applications
such as rear-discharge concrete mixers. Moreover, reduced air spring
fill rate enables Primaax to minimize air pressure requirements for
lifting and supporting rated loads, benefiting applications that
frequently exhaust the suspension. Additionally, as future braking
requirements evolve, Primaax engineers prepare to expand brake
compatibility to include most drum and disc brake configurations.
Primaax is available from most major truck manufacturers in capacities
ranging from 23,000 to 26,000 lb. for single axle, 46,000 to 52,000 lb.
for tandem axle, and 69,000 to 78,000 lb. for tridem-axle applications.

Caterpillar Industrial
Power
BOOTH S-15927
The California Environmental Protection Agency Air
Resources Board has conferred a Level 3 conditional verification on the
manufacturer's Diesel Particulate Filter System for off-highway
machines, recognizing its passive filter system as effective and
reliable in achieving at least an 85 percent reduction in particulate
matter exhaust emissions. The system also meets the California 2009
regulation governing nitrogen dioxide emissions. Conditional
verification is equivalent to verification, the company notes, making
the system legal for sale in California.
The Caterpillar diesel particulate filter system features a passive
regeneration system to automatically remove particulate buildup. The
filter requires no downtime to regenerate and no external heat or fuel
source.
The verification covers wheeled machines with Tier 1, 2, and 3 engines
in the 175- to 300-hp range. The manufacturer expects verification to be
extended to tracked machines and the horsepower range extended as more
field test data are considered.

Volvo

BOOTHS G-134, N-2509 & SZ-1300
Manufacturer has applied a 'mild' diesel-electric
hybrid drive system to a L220F wheel loader. The company emphasizes that
the hybrid's reduced levels of emissions and fuel consumption are
impressive indicators of potential environmental and economic benefits
such a system offers.
Separately, the company is introducing the 'Centaur', its conception of
an articulated hauler of the year 2020, plus a 'new-look' road machinery
product range, now marketed in the corporate livery of yellow/grey and
carrying the Volvo brand.
Latest machines on display include F-Series wheel loaders, C-Series
excavators (including new ECR models), Volvo PL-Series pipe layers, and
E-Series articulated haulers featuring 'Full-Suspension' systems. Plus,
a growing compact-equipment line now includes 18 machines.

PM North
America
BOOTH RL-43033
Developed for the North American market, the
manufacturer notes, the 35LC USA truck-mounted crane series is equipped
with two separate hydraulic control valve blocks linked to two pumps,
allowing the crane to move faster than one with a single-valve block.
That velocity makes the 35LC USA suited to loading and unloading block.
Furthermore, a top-seat control station provides the best view for
operators.
The 85SP series, including the company's most powerful crane, is
equipped with continuous slewing and PM Power Tronic electronic
management systems. The new 85027SP+J1204.20 is able to reach a 108-ft.
maximum working height loading 2,010 lb. The latest model offers
significant loading power under total control--due to the PM Power
Tronic System, which provides a continuous flow of information
visualized on a remote-control screen and on a central unit installed on
the crane's column.

Innovative
Equipment
BOOTH B-910
The new Neptune Series of fully automated,
drive-through wheel wash systems can be configured with one-, two-, or
three-tire cleaning revolutions to eliminate jobsite trackout. Featuring
concrete or galvanized-steel sidewall construction, the Neptune system
suits either permanent or temporary installations. All models are
engineered with a fully automated, closed-loop water recycling and
solids separation process.
The Neptune Series features a high-volume/low-pressure water design that
prevents overspray and knocking of oil and grease from the truck
chassis. Its extra-wide, 42-in. wash elements flex the tire tread open,
allowing high water-volume flow to flush tires clean. A highly focused
spray is achieved with adjustable nozzle assemblies.
Each system is configured with a water-recycling and solid-separation
tank of appropriate size. Increasing the cleanliness of recycled water
is a self-priming flocculent pump. Solids can be removed with equipment
typically available on site. And, autocouplers allow removal of pumps
without dewatering the tank--a significant savings in time and water
during any maintenance or repair, the manufacturer affirms.
