As consumer yellow page usage wanes, local Internet search is
becoming more important. Search for “air conditioning” and based on
your IP address, search engines like Google will serve up local
companies, including a map with locations. You want your company on this
map.

About ten years ago we gathered as many duct sizing methods that we
could get our hands on. The collection ranged from “Dad’s Duct
Sizing” scratched on the back of a clipboard to extensive software
programs. When the dust settled, we had over 40 different ways to
determine duct sizing. Few were the same and even fewer actually
delivered the airflow they claimed. So, how do you check your duct
system size?

When the air turns stale and heavy, where do people turn to find
help? You might say that yellow telephone directory, but smart HVAC
contractors are making it easier to capture those customers with a
toll-free phone name that avoids the yellow entirely. Imagine customers
driving down the street with that misbehaving air conditioning unit on
their mind. They hear a radio commercial or see a sign. They have just
seconds to register a phone number that will lead them to an HVAC
contractor. But a series of numbers are difficult to recall. After all,
which are you more likely to remember — 1-800 265-3247 or 1-800 Cold
Air?

Come celebrate the 30th Anniversary of the “Miracle On Ice” with
an Opening Keynote Event at HVACR WEEK like no other. U.S. Olympic
hockey team Captain Mike Eruzione will captivate the audience with
uplifting stories on overcoming the odds, the benefits of hard work, and
the belief that anything is possible. HVACR WEEK attendees will walk
away inspired, moved and ready to take Mike’s message right back to
their own businesses.
Mike Eruzione is an American sports legend and icon. As captain of the
1980 U.S. Olympic “Miracle on Ice” hockey team, Eruzione led the
Americans past the heavily favored Soviet Union and Finland to capture
the Gold Medal. Sports Illustrated rated the U.S. upset of the Soviets
as the “#1 Sports Moment of the 20th Century”.
