ICM Controls, a leading designer/manufacture of electronic
controls, received a High Performance Building Award from the New York
State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) for the energy
efficient measures incorporated into its new headquarters. The
improvements will help cuts its energy costs by $92,000 annually.

Emerson will sell its motors and appliance controls businesses to
Nidec Corporation, Kyoto, Japan. Nidec sources say it plans to retain
existing facilities and current management and employees. Nidec will
operate the motors businesses from a headquarters building on the
Emerson campus that houses the Motor Technology Center.

Under a national Smart Grid effort, American Society of Heating,
Refrigerating, and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) and the National
Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) are jointly developing a
standard for a common basis for electrical energy consumers to
describe, manage, and communicate about electrical energy consumptions
and forecasts.
