Trends and Hot Topics: 2010 ACCA Convention


I just returned from the ACCA Convention last week and after getting 50 inches of snow in southern Pennsylvania last month, the trip to Tampa was a welcome one. The dose of good weather was reinvigorating, but spending time with some of the country’s top contractors was even more so. The Warm Thoughts team and I spent three days digging deep with these industry leaders, discussing their marketing plans, consulting with them on how to grow their business this year and listening to their strategies for 2010.

SMACNA Announces Webinar Series

Carrier President Darnis Predicts Industry Turnaround


Reuters News Service reported on March 12 that Carrier President Geraud Darnis believes there will be an increase in U.S. demand for residential heating and cooling systems in 2010. "I believe we've reached the bottom on the residential market," Darnis said. "We believe the market will be up this year, anywhere between 5 and 10%."

ACCA's EPIC Training Scheduled for April/August


The Air Conditioning Contractors of America (ACCA), the nation’s largest association of heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration (HVACR) contractors, has announced new dates for its popular Educational Program for Instructor Certification (EPIC) training. EPIC classes certify HVACR professionals to teach residential and commercial heating and cooling system design principles using standard-setting manuals and materials from ACCA’s Environmental Systems Library.
