Green
jobs take center stage at Greenbuild
WASHINGTON — At this year’s Greenbuild, the annual
conference hosted by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), green jobs
take center stage in the form of a Green Jobs Summit and Green Jobs
Fair. The events will take place on November 16 in Chicago and are
hosted in partnership with the BlueGreen Alliance and the City of
Chicago.
Green economy advocate Manuel Flores, acting chairman of the Illinois
Commerce Commission (ICC) will serve as the closing plenary speaker for
the Green Jobs Summit.

Spence O’Brien Award of Excellence goes to Wayne Turchetta
ROCKVILLE, MD – HMC Service Company, Louisville, KY,
Vice President Wayne Turchetta was awarded the D.S. O’Brien Award of
Excellence at the Mechanical Service Contractors of America’s 25th
Annual Educational Conference in Scottsdale, AZ, October 17. The trade
association is based in Rockville, MD, and represents more than 1,400
companies providing heating, ventilating, air conditioning and
refrigeration service to commercial, industrial and residential
facilities across the country.

Arkansas
SPRINGDALE, ARK – Expanding their market reach, United
Mechanical, Inc. of Oklahoma City, Okla., has established AirTemp
Mechanical Service, Inc. in northwest Arkansas. AirTemp Mechanical
Service, located in Springdale, Ark., is a commercial heating, air
conditioning and refrigeration contractor, and will be the sole provider
of Linc Service in this market. Linc Service was previously offered by
L&L Mechanical Services of Springdale.

IES Join Forces on Residential Energy Standard 90.2
ATLANTA -- ASHRAE and the Illuminating Engineering
Society of North America (IES) are working together to strengthen
requirements in ANSI/ASHRAE Standard 90.2, Energy Efficient Design of
Low-Rise Residential Buildings. Previously, the standard was developed
only by ASHRAE and was first published in 1993.
Standard 90.2 provides minimum requirements for the energy-efficient
design of residential buildings.

The Palm Beach Association of the PHCC will hold their
23nd Annual Plumbing Trade Show on Tuesday, March 23, 2011 – Going,
Going, Gone Green.
This show is held at the South Florida Fairgrounds; Expo East, 9067
Southern Blvd., West Palm Beach, FL. The doors for the show open at
5:00pm. and the show ends at 8:00pm.
The show features over one hundred vendors with industry related wares,
and over a thousand participants attend the show geared toward the
plumbing and hvac contractors.
