CODE NEWS UPDATE

--Report on Proposals for NFPA 70B
The Report on Proposals for NFPA 70B: Recommended Practice for
Electrical Equipment Maintenance was posted to the NFPA website (
http://www.nfpa.org/aboutthecodes/AboutTheCodes.asp?DocNum=70B ) on Nov.
30, 2011. If you'd like to comment on any of the proposals included in
this report, then you've got until March 2, 2012 to do so.

He's a short list of some of changes noted in this report.
    *Adding a counterfeit components, devices, tools and equipment
section to the document
    *Adding new text related to arc flash hazard analysis studies
    *Revising text related to batteries and battery systems in several
sections
    *Adding a new section on luminaire grounding
    *Adding a new section for LED lamps
    *Adding new Chapters on the topics of Electrical Disaster Recovery,
Photovoltaic Systems, Electric Vehicle Charging Systems, and Wind Power
Systems

    *Optical fiber and communications cables can be installed with
low-power and network-powered broadband communications circuits in
