Shealy Electrical Merges with Electrical Distributors to Expand in North Carolina
Shealy Electrical Wholesalers, West Columbia, S.C., announced plans to merge with Electrical Distributors Inc., Charlotte, N.C., in a deal that would broaden its reach from its base in South Carolina, eastern Georgia and eastern North Carolina into the Charlotte market where EDI operates six branches. According to the letter of intent, the deal will become official in Jan. 2012.

Osram Acquires the Rest of Encellium
Osram Sylvania, the Danvers, Mass.-based lighting subsidiary of Siemens, announced it has signed an agreement with Townsend Ventures, LLC, to increase its stake in Encelium Technologies from 15 percent to 100 percent.

Graybar Electric Closes $500 Million in Financing; Opens New York Branch
Graybar Electric Co., St. Louis, Mo., announced that on Sept. 28 it entered into a $500 million, five-year unsecured revolving line of credit.

United Copper Industries Acquired by Private Equity Firm KPS Capital Partners
United Copper Industries (UCI), Denton, Texas, a manufacturer of building wire, was acquired on Sept. 29 by New York-based KPS Capital Partners, LP, a U.S.-based private equity fund, from the Mexican firm Grupo IUSA, which reportedly wanted to exit the wire and cable business.

Acuity Acquires Pathway Connectivity
Lighting manufacturer Acuity Brands, Atlanta, has acquired Pathway Connectivity, Inc., for an undisclosed amount of cash. Pathway is a manufacturer of networked data communications and interface equipment for architectural and entertainment lighting control applications world-wide.

New Promotions at Coleman Cable, Border States, others
Coleman Cable Inc. (CCI) (Waukegan, Ill): The company recently made several key changes to its sales and marketing teams. John Pappas has been appointed senior V.P.-corporate marketing; Dan Jones has been appointed V.P. of national accounts- electrical distribution; Marc Hall has been promoted to the position of director of sales, electrical distribution; and Scott Hagen has joined the company as director of product development-assembled products.

GE Energy forms OEM partnership agreement with Inovateus Solar
GE Energy Industrial Solutions announced a partnership agreement to work with Inovateus Solar, a U.S. solar-power distribution and integration company, to build new solar carports with electric vehicle (EV) chargers.

Leviton acquires Obvius Energy Information Solutions
In a move to enhance its position in energy-use measurement and verification markets, Leviton Manufacturing Co., Melville, N.Y., has acquired Obvius, a manufacturer of hardware solutions to collect energy information.

Springfield Electric Supply acquires Heintz Electric
Springfield Electric Supply Co. has purchased the assets of Heintz Electric Co., Quincy, Ill. Locations acquired include Quincy; Hannibal, Mo.; and Keokuk, Iowa.
