400W MH Pulse-Start Lamps Offer Universal Mounting
The 400W High-Output Metal-Halide Pulse-Start lamp is rated for universal mounting, which reduce inventory for both distributors and end users by eliminating the different models for vertical and horizontal mounting positions. The lamps offer seven percent more initial lumens in the vertical position and 11 percent more in the horizontial position than competitive lamps. EYE Lighting

Aluminum Riser MC
Southwire’s feeder size Riser MC™ cable with AlumaFlex® conductors is a time-saving solution for vertical installations. An attractive alternative to both pipe and wire standard MC cable, Riser MC™ cable eliminates the need for any type of special conductor supports or offsets because of an internal polymeric binder under the armor that holds the conductors in place. It is manufactured using AlumaFlex® AA-8000 Series conductors and is available in 3/0 AWG through 750 kcmil. Southwire

Four Prescolite Products Receive IESNA Recognition
The 2008 Illuminating Engineering Society of North America (IESNA) Progress Report Committee awarded four Prescolite products – the A4/A6 recessed fixture series, EM Integral, A6 R111 recessed fixture and Signos R111 MH track fixture – with Progress Report labels. Each year product-specific IESNA Progress Report labels recognize manufacturers that have made significant technological advancements in the lighting industry. The A4/A6 recessed fixture series was acknowledged as the first specification grade IC downlight housing with tool-less top access for maintenance. Prescolite’s EM Integral option combines the indicator light and test button into one component inside the reflector. This removes the traditionally unsightly red button from the ceiling, minimizing distractions for occupants. Prescolite

Fuses for PV Applications
The SPF Solar fuse offers protection for photovoltaic (PV) applications in excess of 1,000V DC in a compact 10X38 mm midget package.Due to the advances in technology and the drive for higher efficiency, today’s photovoltaic circuit constraints have become more severe than can be protected with commonly used circuit protective devices and circuit breakers. With this in mind, the SPF series was designed to specifically address the PV industry’s needs and this line of fuses protects PV modules and conductors from the potentially devastating effects of a low short-circuit current in systems upwards of 1,000V DC. The UL-Recognized SPF series offers 13 different ampere ratings from 1A up to 30A. Littelfuse

LED Replacement for 40W Incandescents
Philips Lighting previewed a prototype of the EnduraLED at LightFair. The A-shaped LED bulb produces a record 600 lumen output and will replace 40W incandescent bulbs in general-lighting applications in the U.S. market and 60W incandescent technology in the European (230V) market. The bulb is fully dimmable down to 10 percent. Powered by LUXEON Rebel LEDs from Philips Lumileds, the 8W 120V bulb delivers 75 lumens per watt -- five times the efficacy of an equivalent incandescent bulb. The light source is scheduled to be commercially available by late 2010. Philips Lighting

Recessed LED Downlights
The Juno LED Downlight for recessed lighting in residential, retail and commercial applications features low energy consumption, long life, minimal heat generation and uniform illumination. It comes in three color temperatures: 3,000K, 3,500K and 4,100K; and five and six-inch housings in new construction and remodel styles. All housings are IC-rated for use in either insulated or non-insulated ceilings. Juno Lighting

Stainless Steel Cord Connectors
Stainless Steel Cord Connectors are in stock up to three inches. All of the company’s stainless steel cord connectors feature an embedded Viton O-Ring -- optional from other suppliers – and neoprene grommets for enhanced sealing capabilities. The Type 304 Stainless Steel is designed for corrosion resistance and toughness in food processing facilities, medical product production, slaughter and packing houses, petrochemical plants and chemical manufacturing factories. The Type 316 Stainless Steel is a heavy-duty option that withstands attack by many industrial chemicals, solvents and acids in severe environments such as pulp and paper mills, pharmaceutical production and wastewater treatment. Type 316 is specified for marine use (like offshore oil platforms) and FDA-mandated washdown applications in food processing plants. Remke Industries

Two-Pole AFCIs Save Cost and Time for Electrical Contractors
The two-pole Combination Type AFCI can reduce wiring costs and installation time by enabling contractors to use multi-wire branch circuits, commonly known as “shared neutrals.” When using single pole CAFCIs, a dedicated neutral is required for each circuit. The new two-pole CAFCI allows electricians to share neutrals between the two circuits fed by the breaker. Siemens’ CAFCIs meet all requirements of the current and proposed codes. The Combination Type AFCIs are UL-listed e for use on 120V single-phase, 15A and 20A branch circuits. Siemens
