New York Code
Updates
A Notice
of Adoption establishing an effective date of Dec. 28, 2010 for the
Uniform Fire Prevention and Building Code and State Energy Conservation
Construction Code was published in the Sept. 29, 2010 edition of the
New
York State Register. According to a recent Code Alert issued on
Sept. 22, 2010 by the National Electrical Manufacturers Association
(NEMA), all codes in the Uniform Code are based on the 2006
International Code Council codes, with modifications that reference the
2008 NEC. Part VIII – Electrical Provisions of the 2009 Residential
Code of New York State also references the 2008 NEC.
