Code News Update
Massachusetts Adopts 2011
NEC
According to a recent Code Alert issued on Dec.
15, 2010 by the National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA),
the Massachusetts Board of Fire Prevention Regulations (BFPR) held a
public hearing on December 9 in advance of adopting the 2011 version of
the NEC. At this meeting, the advisory committee to the board
recommended adoption of the new Code with 67 amendments. The BFPR voted
to accept the committee recommendation with one exception. The new Code
will have an effective date of Jan. 1, 2011.
