Electric Power Distribution Workshops The
Missouri
University of Science and Technology (Missouri S&T), formerly
University
of Missouri-Rolla, in cooperation with Cooper Power Systems, offers a
series of two- and three-day workshops on a broad range of topics
related to electric power distribution. These topics span basic power
system analysis to advanced treatments of overcurrent and overvoltage
protection, as well as the application and protection of capacitors and
transformers. The courses are taught by a combination of industry
practitioners and academics. All courses feature highly polished
workshop notes and PowerPoint presentations. Sign up today for our
Fundamentals of Power Distribution course being offered in Rolla, Mo.,
from August 11-13. Online
registration is now available.
Advanced Protective Relay
Maintenance This course covers complex electromechanical
protective relay theory, application, and components. Students will
interpret internal and external wiring diagrams for typical relays and
use PULSAR, MPRT, and other phase-shift test sets. Test, calibrate,
repair, and troubleshoot the following relays in lab: directional
overcurrent, power, sync-check, and impedance. Find a convenient AVO
Training Institute location and date at www.electricaltrainingservices.com.
Summer Savings on UL University's Workshops Learn
from UL experts this summer by attending one of UL University's
upcoming workshops.Topics include:- NEC for
Photovoltaics
- Photovoltaics: UL 1703 and IEC 61730
- UL's
Data Acceptance Program
- Lightning Protection Installation
Standard Review
- CE Marking
- Specifying Printed Wiring
Boards in End Products

Power Quality Monitoring The Power
Quality Monitoring program from Eaton Corp. is designed for engineers
and technicians who need to know how to identify power quality problems
or perform measurements of sags, swells, voltage transients, harmonic
distortion, and voltage flicker. Training is conducted by experienced
power systems engineers. For registration and further information on
this and other course offerings, visit us at http://www.eaton.com.
Online Selective Coordination Training All
courses free and Available 24/7! Become an expert and provide
astute counsel to your customers by understanding the latest NEC
requirements for selective coordination within a facility’s
emergency,
legally required standby, and critical operations power systems, as
well
as the essential electrical system in
health care facilities. This course explains how and why specifying
engineers design
systems for selective coordination and can help you avoid losing money
and damaging your reputation. Register

Grounding System Design and
Testing This course covers system, equipment, static,
lightning protection, and sensitive electronics grounding. Identify
components, methods, connection and electrode choices, location,
applications, issues for a variety of installations, and IEEE Std. 142
requirements. Perform fall of potential ground resistance and
soil-resistivity measurement techniques in grounding lab and interpret
all test results. Find a convenient AVO Training Institute location and
date at www.electricaltrainingservices.com/.
Low-Voltage Motor Controls and
Starters This course covers components and operation of
motor-control circuits from basic to advanced. Interpret wiring
diagrams
and perform testing procedures for two- and three-wire controls,
reversing circuits, sequence control, jogging and inching circuits,
methods of deceleration, reduced voltage control, and speed control.
Address maintenance for motor circuit protective devices, including
motor overloads (heaters), molded-case circuit breakers, and
motor-circuit protectors (MCPs). Perform troubleshooting techniques in
lab. Find a convenient AVO Training Institute location and date at www.electricaltrainingservices.com.
