Electric Power Distribution Workshops
The Missouri University of Science and Technology (Missouri S&T), formerly University of Missouri-Rolla, in cooperation with Cooper Power Systems, offers a series of two- and three-day workshops on a broad range of topics related to electric power distribution. These topics span basic power system analysis to advanced treatments of overcurrent and overvoltage protection, as well as the application and protection of capacitors and transformers. The courses are taught by a combination of industry practitioners and academics. All courses feature highly polished workshop notes and PowerPoint presentations. Sign up today for our Fundamentals of Power Distribution course being offered in Rolla, Mo., from August 11-13. Online registration is now available.

Medium Voltage Circuit Breaker Maintenance
This course covers maintenance requirements and identification of components and ratings for metal-clad switchgear, specifically 5kV and 15kV air and vacuum circuit breakers. Students will perform a complete circuit breaker service: inspection, removal, disassembly, cleaning, tightening, reassembly, lubrication, and adjustment in lab. Find a convenient AVO Training Institute location and date at www.electricaltrainingservices.com.

Summer Savings on UL University's Workshops

Power Quality Monitoring
The Power Quality Monitoring program from Eaton Corp. is designed for engineers and technicians who need to know how to identify power quality problems or perform measurements of sags, swells, voltage transients, harmonic distortion, and voltage flicker. Training is conducted by experienced power systems engineers. For registration and further information on this and other course offerings, visit us at http://www.eaton.com.

Online Selective Coordination Training

All courses free and available 24/7!
Become an expert and provide astute counsel to your customers by understanding the latest NEC requirements for selective coordination within a facility’s emergency, legally required standby, and critical operations power systems, as well as the essential electrical system in health care facilities. This course explains how and why specifying engineers design systems for selective coordination and can help you avoid losing money and damaging your reputation.

Power Quality and Harmonics
This course covers the effects of poor power quality: identifying, quantifying, and isolating power quality problems; interpreting power quality data; and mitigation techniques. Designed for electricians, technicians, and maintenance personnel who are responsible for the identification and correction of power quality and harmonics problems in commercial and industrial environments. Find a convenient AVO Training Institute location and date at www.electricaltrainingservices.com.

Transformer Testing and Maintenance
This course covers transformer types, applications, components, indicators, nameplate data, and safety procedures. Interpret tansformer polarity and vector diagrams and understand filling, filtering, and drying of transformer oil. Perform insulation resistance tests, transformer turns ratio test (TTR), power/dissipation factor tests (AC insulation resistance), core excitation tests, winding resistance tests, and a wide range of insulating liquid tests in lab.
