Programmable Logic Controllers Online Training
Flexible, interactive, and efficient online training. Convert your computer into a virtual PLC and study at your own pace, on your schedule, in your home. The PLC technician training program introduces the concepts of PLCs and explains how they can be used in a plant or manufacturing system. The simulation software lets you design ladder logic programs, perform tests, and simulate the operation of real-world components including motors, solenoid valves, and a wide variety of other discrete and analog I/O devices.

Our program features:
  • Open enrollment and flexible payment options
  • Interactive CD-ROM and online learning resources
  • Hands-on labs using software simulation
  • Free 1-800 technical, tutorial, and admin support
  • Offered through a network of colleges across North America

Electric Power Distribution Workshops
The Missouri University of Science and Technology (Missouri S&T), formerly University of Missouri-Rolla, in cooperation with Cooper Power Systems, offers a series of two- and three-day workshops on a broad range of topics related to electric power distribution. All courses feature highly polished workshop notes and PowerPoint presentations. These workshops are available for in-house or captive workshops.

2010 Open Registration Workshops:

  • Symmetrical Components
    March 11-12
  • Fundamentals of Power Distribution
    March 31-April 2
  • Overcurrent Protection
    May 26-28
  • Distribution Voltage Regulation
    August 17-19
Registration information is available at: 2010 Course Descriptions.

Power Factor Testing
This course covers theory, procedures, and safety for power/dissipation factor testing (AC insulation testing). Address testing methods, potential problems, and compensation for them. Perform various types of power/dissipation factor testing on transformers, oil circuit breakers, oil and compound-filled bushings, and insulating liquids and interpret test results.
