PLC Training Online
Flexible, interactive, and efficient online training. Convert your computer into a virtual programmable logic controller (PLC) and study at your own pace, on your schedule, in your home. The PLC Technician training program introduces the concepts of PLCs and explains how they can be used in a plant or manufacturing system. The simulation software lets you design ladder logic programs, perform tests, and simulate the operation of real-world components including motors, solenoid valves, and a wide variety of other discrete and analog I/O devices.

Our Program features:
  • Open enrollment, flexible payment options
  • Interactive CD-ROM and online learning resources
  • Hands-on labs using software simulation
  • Free 1-800 technical, tutorial and admin support
Offered through a network of colleges across North America. For info call 1-888-553-5333. For a free information package, click www.online-tech-training.com/ecm

Fluke Training Website
Visit www.teachmefluke.com, and you'll find all Fluke training offerings listed — from free online demos and videos to webinars and hands-on classes for topics like thermal imaging and power quality. There are even links to the robust Fluke library of application notes and case studies and the free Fluke Education Program.

Premises Cabling
Premises cabling, or structured cabling, is an indoor system designed to carry voice, data, and video signals. Traditionally, cabling has focused on Cat 5 unshielded twisted-pair cable as used in Ethernet networks, but network architectures are changing. As a result, technicians must understand UTP copper, fiber optics, and wireless technologies.

Lead-Safe Renovators Course
This 8-hour course covers regulations, job site preparation, dust containment, and work techniques to minimize lead release, clean-up, and record keeping. To be eligible to work on pre-1978 buildings, EPA rules require renovation contractors to become trained and certified in lead paint abatement methods by December 31. Specifically, EPA's Renovation, Repair, and Painting Final Rule (40 CFR 745) requires that renovations must be performed by certified firms using certified renovators.
