Working with digital RF requires analysis with a combination
of dynamic range and image rejection at very wide bandwidths. All of the
above and more are manifested in the Tektronix RSA6120A spectrum
analyzer, which is targeted directly at digital-RF designers working in
the Ku-band frequencies (12 to 18 GHz).

An interface circuit provides three levels of speed control
for a dc motor using a PC’s parallel port (LPT1). It connects the
motor to the PC using a 4-bit binary counter, three current-limiting
resistors, three npn transistors, three 5-V relays, and two supply
resistors. A C++ program performs the control functions.

intended to complement Wi-Fi, has been approved for use in Smart Grid
applications by NIST. G.hn would be one contender for communications
between the electric meter and home appliances and electric-vehicle
