Feature
Basic Driveline Maintenance
By Chris Cavette, In Service Senior Editor
Improper driveline maintenance can lead to vibrations, noise and catastrophic failures. Pumps and other vital components can quit working, and vehicles can stop dead in the middle of the road. Adding a couple of easy driveline checks to your regular preventive maintenance program can help detect and avoid these problems.

Recent Apparatus Deliveries

Whenever a department writes the specifications for a new apparatus, part of the process should be to look at apparatus being delivered to other departments around the country. What are they specifying? Why did they select a particular chassis or component? How do they feel about their choices now that the apparatus are delivered?

Components

Task Force Tips now offers a remote-controlled version of its recently introduced Jumbo Ball Intake Valve. It gives the same high flow and low pressure drop as the manual version, with the convenience of easier operation on apparatus designed with the intake located away from the pump panel.
