Diesel
down three cents
The average diesel price in the U.S. decreased three cents to $2.22
per gallon for the week of February 9, according the Energy Information
Administration (EIA). This puts prices at their lowest level since May
2005, when they averaged $2.16.

GM
cuts 10,000 employees
General Motors Corp. will trim its salaried workforce by about
10,000 employees as part of its restructuring plan, the company
announced this morning. The car and truck maker will eliminate 3,400 of
its 29,500 salaried employees in the U.S. by May 1st.

Volvo offer DPFs for California operators
Mack Trucks and Volvo Trucks North America (VTNA) are now offering
retrofit diesel particulate filters (DPF) that will allow operators
using non-EGR (exhaust gas recirculation) engines sold from 1996 to 2002
to meet California emissions requirements.
