Fuel-saving
flaps
At first glance, the Andersen Eco-Flaps don’t look like trailer
wheel flaps at all. A lightweight piece perforated with slats, they look
more like large air vent covers. Yet these simple plastic constructions
are touted to improve tractor-trailer fuel economy anywhere from 0.2
miles per gallon up towards 0.4 to 0.5 miles per gallon, according to
the inventor and company president Barry Andersen.
