Caterpillar has undertaken a study that could lead to a new
hydraulic excavator facility being built in the U.S., as part of the
growing trend toward onshoring—bringing production work back to the
U.S. to reduce global supply chain management costs. Such a move
significantly increase Caterpillar’s employment in the U.S. dedicated
to excavator production.

Apple ranks number one in analyst firm AMR Research's
compilation of the top 25 supply chains of 2010. Analysts attribute
Apple's success to its ability to consistently bring both operational
excellence and innovation excellence to bear in some of the most
competitive markets in the world. P&G ranks number two, and Cisco
Systems was ranked number three.

Anne Ferro, head of the FMCSA, told shippers that they need
to stop undermining truckers' ability to drive safely and stop wasting
their time. Truckers are under increased financial and mental stress
when their legal driving hours are eaten up by that time wasted loading
docks, she says.

Under a plea bargain agreement with the U.S. Justice
Department, the six freight forwarders will pay a total of $50 million
in criminal fines.
