- Economy Grows, Manufacturing Slow
Overall, the US economy grew for the third consecutive month, reported
the Institute for Supply Management (ISM). However, it's Purchasing
Managers Index (PMI) was still not on the growth side of the index
threshold of 50. (An indicator below 50 indicates contraction in a
segment, a number above 50 signifies growth.)

Dry-van and refrigerated truckload carrier Knight Transportation
Inc. expects “multi-million-dollar impact” from the purchase of IDSC
ExpertFuel software from TMW. The company, which operates more than
3,700 trucks, is targeting fuel purchases.

Welch Foods Inc., a processing and marketing subsidiary of National
Grape Cooperative Association, improved warehouse and inventory
management operations, achieving over 99% visibility and inventory
accuracy.
