Demystifying linear motor integration
Machine and robot builders recognize linear motor benefits, but some are reluctant to integrate the components into designs — because of incomplete understanding of the technology. Here we overcome that with a review of basic linear motor integration.

Motorize your device - Quiet, Efficient Gear Motors for battery powered electric vehicles.
ASI Technologies manufactures standard and custom gear motors and transaxles specifically designed for motorizing <2kW electric vehicles and machines. Ideal for mobility scooters, wheelchairs, floorcare machines, material handling, AGVs, single-rider golf carts and most devices up to ~3000 Lbs. ASI has been producing gear motors for the electric vehicle market for over 25 years. Let ASI use it's Engineering expertise to solve your battery powered gear drive problem.

Electric actuators replace hydraulics in flight simulators
Hydraulic motion-control systems ruled the flight simulation world for more than 40 years. While there were attempts to create all-electric systems, the results typically fell short in performance or the higher investment needed to own the system deterred customers. So economical all-electric motion-control systems for flight simulation are an engineering breakthrough of sorts.

Aerodynamics and Weight Key for Automotive X-Prize Winners
The Progressive Insurance Automotive X-Prize competition ended this past fall with half the $10 million purse going to Mainstream Class entrant Very Light Car #98 (VLC) from Edison2, Charlottesville, Va. Two Alternative-Class winners, Wave II from Li-ion Motors Corp., Mooresville, N. C. and E-Tracer by the X-tracer team from Peraves, Winterthur, Switzerland, split the remaining $5 million.
