Wal-Mart to Build Super Sustainable Refrigerated DC
Wal-Mart Canada announces plans to invest $115 million to
build the retailer’s first sustainable refrigerated distribution
center (DC) in Balzac, Alberta. The DC will feature fuel-cell-powered
lift trucks, low-energy solid-state (LED) lighting, solar and wind
energy, a white roof membrane and more.

Conveyor orders for December 2009 increased 19% from December
2008, according to the most recent statistics from the Conveyor

Cites C&W Industries for Safety Violations
OSHA has proposed $59,250 in penalties against C&W Industries
in Union Springs, Ala., for a number of safety violations, including
unguarded machinery, insufficient training and certification for lift
truck operators and inadequate fire prevention.

Berlin Packaging, a supplier of plastic, glass, and metal
containers and closures, plans to acquire All-Pak Inc., a packaging
supplier based in Pittsburgh.
