The 10-month-old Overland Park, Kan.--based company released the standard version of its product, also called Meeting Evolution, in February, but the roots of the software go back more than seven years, when it was developed as the in-house software for Meeting Sites Resources, an Irvine, Calif.--based site selection and meeting planning company. Here's more on the software and the people behind it. The competition is low-key but fast-paced, with each company given five to 10 minutes to demonstrate its technology product, which must be of use to face-to-face marketers. We've got a link to a video of the winning six-minute presentation -- and more on BusyEvent and the other companies that participated in the Shootout, here. It not only gives you valuable feedback, but it continues a dialog with your participants, demonstrating that the end of the session is not the end of your interest in communicating with them. But depending on how you deliver the questions, you can expect response rates to vary widely. Here's my ranking, from best to worst, of the five most common feedback-request methods. (http://wsuccess.typepad.com/webinarblog/2009/07/the-art-of-the-survey.html) On another topic, if you offer replays of your live webinars and need some advice on the considerations around having live and on-demand participants, I'll be discussing this on a free webinar next Thursday, August 19 (http://wsuccess.typepad.com/webinarblog/2009/07/thinking-about-webinar-replays.html). ON OUR RADAR --Deadline Near for Major Meeting Technology Competition The call for entries for the WorldWide Technology Watch 2009 closes on September 4. The competition, hosted by EIBTM, the global meetings and incentives exhibition, convening December 1-3 in Barcelona, Spain, is celebrating its 10th year of honoring innovative technologies. I know you're doing more with less, so let's get right to it. Ever heard of Evernote, Wave, Remember the Milk, Bing, or Shazam? I've got some quick explanations of how these and some other products are -- or soon will be -- changing how we work.
