Sennheiser is expanding its offerings of microphone customization with
the launch of chrome and chrome-color mic personalization options.
Chrome-mic personalization involves the application of a chroming
process to the capsule and microphone housing, and may be applied to
both wireless and wired microphones. For those wishing to make a more
personal statement, Sennheiser is also offering chrome-color mic
personalization, giving users the option to select the color of their
choice, including specialized color options. Both of these processes may
be applied to the capsule and mic housing of both wireless and wired
microphones. A six-month warranty on the color chrome process does not
negate the standard Sennheiser product warranty. MSRP is $899 for
standard chrome and $999 for special chrome colors, and can be applied
to most Sennheiser mics. Booth #6579 www.sennheiserusa.com
Sound Devices CL-8 Shipping Sound Devices' CL-8 Controller,
a mixing control surface companion to the company’s new 788T digital
8-track recorder, is now shipping. In addition, the 788T has been
upgraded to 12 recording tracks for all 788T users with the latest
firmware. The CL-8 features eight large, rotary faders to control the
eight inputs of the 788T. It offers command over numerous input
settings, including highpass filter, limiter and polarity. When used
with the CL-8, the original 788T input controls function as input trims
and the CL-8 provides fader control. The CL-8 is able to manage the
788T’s built-in slate mic. For rapid setups in the field, the CL-8
allows users to quickly assign inputs to the main left and right record
tracks. The CL-8 is connected to the recorder over a USB connection and
it includes a USB keyboard pass-through port.
