CEDAR Audio Cambridge Series III
CEDAR Audio will unveil a significant upgrade to its flagship CEDAR Cambridge Series III audio restoration and speech-enhancement system. This introduces the latest developments in audio processing, including four powerful new modules that make the system useful for an even wider range of applications, plus a new architecture that makes full use of these when batch processing and when the system is used as a restoration server. Grace Design m501
This new 500 Series rack preamp module is a fully balanced, transformerless unit that incorporates 0.5-percent precision metal resistors, high-performance output line driver and HPF amplifiers, and RFI suppression. The 12-position rotary gain switch is gold plated and a sealed gold contact relay is used for hi-Z input switching. There’s also a rotary trim/gain pot included that allows for fine tuning of gain settings. The m501 includes Grace’s ribbon mic mode as standard, which raises the mic impedance, bypasses the input decoupling capacitors and deactivates 48-volt phantom power. With ribbon mode engaged, the m501 provides a wide 10 to 75dB gain range. SRP: $625 (U.S.). Find out more information about the m501.

Mackie Onyx-i
The Onyx-i Series FireWire recording mixers delivers premium analog features, tremendous flexibility and built-in 24-bit/96kHz FireWire I/O. Onyx-i FireWire mixers can be used with all major DAWs, and is qualified by Mackie for use with Pro Tools M-Powered 8. The mixers offer Onyx mic preamps and Perkins EQ, the latter users can choose to implement into the recording path at the push of a button, and can choose to record auxes, groups (1640i) and the master L/R signal. The flagship Onyx 1640i incorporates a flexible 16x16 FireWire interface, allowing you to return up to 16 DAW channels back into the channel strips. Sonnox Restore
Sonnox Restore is a suite of three plug-ins—Oxford DeBuzzer, Oxford DeClicker and Oxford DeNoiser—designed to accurately restore impaired audio recordings. Its advanced algorithms allow fast and effective removal of pops, clicks, crackles, scratches, hum, buzzes and extraneous background noise from virtually any recording. All three plug-ins provide detailed graphical feedback, and include features a specialized Dialog mode in the DeClicker. The Sonnox Restore Suite will be available at a price of $1,995 in the fall of 2009, and will be compatible with Pro Tools (RTAS), Audio Units and VST platforms. Telefunken Drives MicroBus to the Show
Telefunken Elektroakustik has completely restored and customized a 1963 Volkswagen MicroBus for the drive from the company's world headquarters in Connecticut to this year's Audio Engineering Society Convention in New York City. Emblazoned with original vintage Telefunken graphics, the bus will be part of the company's exhibition space. The bus, along with the entire line of Telefunken microphones will be on display at AES Booth #660, October 9-12. Find out more information about the bus.
