SM Pro Audio ADDA 192-S
SM Pro Audio is now shipping the ADDA 192-S ($499) 2-channel, 24-bit/192kHz AD/DA converter. The front panel provides two combo connectors for mic or line-level sources. Wow and Flutter West Announces Work on Indie Feature Films
Wow and Flutter West in Santa Monica, Calif., has completed original music and post-production work on a number of independent feature films. Operating under Wow and Flutter West's Gerald Brunskill Music (GBM) division, Jerry Brunskill wrote and scored the original music for Deep Winter. Academy Award--winning mixer Jeffrey Perkins (Dances with Wolves) and Eric Justin mixed this film and provided the sound editorial at Wow and Flutter West's new Stage A mixing theater. MORE

Torture Unit Records Demo at Odds on Recording
Members of Las Vegas--based metal band Torture Unit recently visited Odds on Recording in Henderson, Nev., which is outfitted with an SSL XL9000 K Series SuperAnalogue console, to record a three-song demo. "There is absolutely nothing left to desire with our CD sound quality," says guitarist and backup vocalist Tim Dever. "When targeting music executives and record labels, you have one shot to have your music heard and you don't want your chance hindered by poor sound quality and presentation. Lectrosonics Venue Wireless System Used in 'Bobby'
Production sound mixer Coleman Metts (pictured) used a Lectrosonics Venue wireless system to capture audio in one particularly challenging scene in the movie Bobby, an MGM/Weinstein Company film that chronicles the events of the June 6, 1968, assassination of U.S. Senator Robert F. Kennedy at The Ambassador Hotel in Los Angeles. Bobby was written and directed by Emilio Estevez, and stars Martin Sheen, Helen Hunt, Anthony Hopkins, William H. Macy and others. MORE

Zac, a multi-room complex in Atlanta comprising two recording studios, three Pro Tools digital suites and an equipment rental house, announced its most recent sessions. MORE

September Sessions at Avatar Studio
Avatar Studios in New York City hosted several recording, mixing and mastering sessions during September. The Chris Potter Tentet recorded a new release for the Verve label in Avatar's Studio A, which is equipped with a Neve 8068 console. Potter's sessions were produced by Dave Holland, with James Farber engineering and Brian Montgomery assisting. Dream Theater also recorded a self-produced album in Studio A with engineer Paul Northfield and assistant engineer Chad Lupo. MORE
