Paragon
Studios Acquires New Neumann Mics
Paragon Studios, a leading
multi-room recording and post-production facility in Franklin, Tenn.,
has acquired seven new Neumann microphones, including three matching
M150 tube mics. The set was obtained for sessions with the Moscow
Symphony Orchestra for the feature film One Night With the King,
engineered by Paragon's owner and chief engineer, Fred Paragano

music for CN8 -- The Comcast Network. The music will be used in a series

Projects at StarCity Recording
Jazz musician, producer and record label executive Eric
Doney recently worked on five projects at StarCity Recording Company in
Bethlehem, Pa. Doney is currently tracking Giants at Work, a DVD
featuring the music of Phil Woods, in 5.1 surround with StarCity's Jeff
Glixman and Carl Cadden-James. MORE
UK Band Stoner Records Debut Album Stoner (pictured), a
three-piece London-based band comprising brothers Des (guitar/vocals)
and Gavin Lambert (bass), and drummer Rob Flanagan, recorded its
self-titled debut album for U.S. independent label Rhythmbank Records at
Antonio's Freshly Frozen Fish Market, a private studio in London. The
label appointed Rik Simpson, whose credits include Coldplay, Athlete and
Kasabian, to produce the album. MORE
Gotan Project Visits The Village Recorder Gotan Project, an
international collaboration of tango and electronica artists based in
Paris, visited The Village (L.A.) in late August for a live-to-air
performance on local NPR station KCRW's Morning Becomes Eclectic
show. The band -- which features acoustic guitar, strings, piano,
accordion and vocals superimposed over electronic beats -- set up in the
facility's Neve 8048--equipped Studio A, with Jason Wormer engineering
and Ghian Wright assisting. KCRW's Ariana Morgenstern produced the

Billy Decker Uses Metric Halo on Album Projects Billy
Decker (pictured) is a mixing and recording engineer who works with some
of Nashville's hottest country music acts. Decker recently worked with
Chris Young, the winner of USA Network's Nashville Star
talent-search competition, which completed its fourth season, for a
release on RCA. MORE
'The Sopranos' Hit The Audio Department For two weeks this
summer, the cast HBO's The Sopranos recorded dialog for the new
videogame The Sopranos -- Road to Respect at The Audio Department
in New York City. Participating cast members included James Gandolfini,
Michael Imperioli, Tony Sirico, Steven Van Zandt, Joseph Gannascoli,
Vincent Pastore and Robert Iler. The recording for the entire game was a
joint effort by The Audio Department and Atlantis Group Recording in
Santa Monica, Calif. MORE
Jeff Juliano Finds Success Using API Products Jeff Juliano
(pictured) of Easton, Md., has accumulated Platinum mixing credits for
John Mayer, the Dave Matthews Band, Lifehouse, O.A.R. and more. Juliano
considers his API 8200 8-channel summing mixers and API 7600 input
module channel strips to be critical elements for all of his mixing
