The MTV Europe Music Awards took place this year on November 18th at the Tor di Valle in Rome. Sound designer Derrick Zieba worked behind the scenes at the show; all live equipment was supplied by Britannia Row Productions (London), including Sennheiser wired and wireless mics and personal monitor systems, which were chosen by many artists. First-Ever Nordic Music Awards Asks for Alcons
The debut of the Nordic Music Awards were held recently in Oslo, Norway, and Miami/Nashville-based rental company Audio One was the live audio supplier for the event. The annual show, which was held in Oslo Spektrum and broadcast live on Scandinavian television, featured top international artists such as Robbie Williams, Tina Turner, Kylie Minogue, Westlife and Brian McFadden. The sold-out event had an audience of approximately 9,000. MORE

Kevin Spacey Navigates Beyond the Sea With Shure

Academy Award-winning actor Kevin Spacey is hitting the road for a concert tour with Shure microphones and monitor systems to promote his upcoming biopic, Beyond the Sea. The film, also starring Kate Bosworth, John Goodman and Bob Hoskins, traces the tragic, heroic life of the late-teen singing idol, Bobby Darin. MORE

k.d lang and her various accompanying orchestras used DPA Microphones IMK4061 Instrument Miking Kits during their 2004 touring season. Mac Johnson, an audio technician for k.d. lang, said, "Because we are either playing as a guest of an orchestra or hiring orchestras wherever we go, having to mike a different set of instruments from place to place could have been a real logistical, time-consuming problem.
