New Product Overview: Digital Error Checker - the Audio Firewall

Digital Error Checker Screen Shot

The Digital Error Checker is a powerful audio analysis application that can examine small or large volumes of audio files, or automatically monitor a particular local or network directory for new incoming files, detecting problems immediately upon receipt. This application can therefore automate the process of audio file quality control and organization within a facility.

A full report is generated for any or all of the inspected audio files, providing a clear overview of the problems contained within the audio material. Errors such as Digital Zeros, Digital Clipping, Sample Holds, Digital Clicks and Block Repeating are identified and then logged into a quality report. The report is generated in XML and HTML formats that can easily be customized for viewing in a standard browser and / or printed. An optimized EventPlayer is also supplied for the efficient playback of detected errors.

Digital Error Checker - System Requirements:

  • Windows 2000 or XP
  • Single Processor - minimum 800 MHz
  • 256MB RAM
  • CD-ROM drive for installation and updates

New Cube-Tec Product: DOBBIN - the Audio Rendering Farm

Imagine that you have to convert 10,000 audio tracks to the same loudness, then encode them using an aacPlus codec, check the encoding process, generate a MD5 checksum of your results, and document the entire process - but you only have a very limited time to complete this task. DOBBIN can do it all in a few simple steps.

DOBBIN is a distributed, fully scalable, high-availability audio-processing and rendering engine, created to fully automate file management, rights management and media processing functions for large on-line media centers. The system will supervise parallel, automated batch-processes based on media availability, conditional branching using internal or external criteria, database integration and more. Processing/supervision functions include audio file integrity, normalization, sample-rate conversion, format conversion, encoding/trans-coding, water-marking and other signal processing functions.

DOBBIN uses open XML-based interfaces that integrate a VISIO-like workflow and automation designer in conjunction with GUI based job managers / supervisors, enabling users to easily create and manage multiple complex jobs in a secure and fully controllable network environment.

AudioCube News - Sequoia / AudioCube Integration

In a joint statement released on 29 Sept 05, Cube-Tec GmbH and Magix AG announced a cooperation that will result in the complete integration of Sequoia multi-channel digital audio editing software into the AudioCube mastering and restoration workstation. When used on the AudioCube workstation, Sequoia will have full access to all of the legendary AudioCube VPI's, the 24-bit, 192kHz audio processing plugins that are exclusive to the AudioCube platform and already used by the world's top mastering engineers. Keep an eye on the Cube-Tec web site for additional information and details regarding this breaking news.

New Cube-Tec Product: QUADRIGA 2.0 - Automated Audio Archival

Quadriga Screenshot

QUADRIGA has become the audio archival solution for over 70 facilities in 13 different countries, including the world's largest archive, The Library of Congress. The new features and capabilities included in QUADRIGA 2.0 are primarily a result of the close working relationships that exist between QUADRIGA uses and the Cube-Tec product development team.

Among other enhancements, QUADRIGA 2.0 enables simultaneous parallel capturing of audio material from up to four different devices in any combination. For example, a single QUADRIGA 2.0 system could be configured to handle capturing from analog tapes, vinyl, compact cassettes, and a 9-Pin device simultaneously. If desired, audio files from all 4 machines can be analyzed during the capturing process, with an automatically generated Quality Report stored in the header of the Broadcast Wave (BWF) file when it is written.

QUADRIGA utilizes sophisticated technology unique to the AudioCube platform, providing automated monitoring and logging of both analog and digital audio streams for technical parameters of archival significance. This relieves system operators from monotonous and time-consuming procedures, while guaranteeing the highest possible level of quality control and the reduction of archive transfer costs.

New Cube-Tec Product: SpectraPolator VPI

The SpectraPolator - an extension of the Cube Waveform Restorer provides spectrum-based interpolation of the audio material within Steinberg WaveLab.

Typical applications include the removal of coughs or ringing cell phones from live recordings, low-frequency thumps from optical soundtracks, or any specific frequency-domain disturbance. The ability to separately select the "time/frequency" region that requires interpolation, combined with a fast and accurate zoom function and unlimited undo, adds a new dimension to the Cube Waveform-Restorer. The high resolution SpectroGraph displays your audio data in a time-versus-frequency window and then allows you to accurately display, audition, select and interpolate only the required program component.
