Videogames
Extravaganza!

Various Artists: Billy Strayhorn: Lush Life (Blue Note). It's not
really accurate to say that Billy Strayhorn has been flying under the
radar all these years. As the writer and arranger of so many classic
tunes by Duke Ellington (and others), his name and work are both
well-known. But he has gotten a lot of attention in recent years thanks
to David Hajdu's late '90s biography (Lush Life, named after one
of Strayhorn's greatest songs) and now, a PBS documentary and an
accompanying CD (both called Billy Strayhorn: Lush Life). MORE

Chamber Orchestra Records with Korg MR-1000
The Nashville Chamber Orchestra (NCO) is one of the first musical
organizations to use the new Korg MR-1000 1-bit digital recorder.
Founded in 1990 by music director Paul Gambill, NCO often commissions

variety of genres, including jazz, folk and world music in its

HHB FlashMic Used in 24-Hour Filmmaking Festival Writer and
director Scott Evans used an HHB FlashMic in producing his movie, Wet
Paint, which was entered in the 2006 "Shoot Out Boulder 24-Hour
Filmmaking Festival" in Boulder, Colo. The FlashMic combines the sound
quality of a Sennheiser omni-directional condenser capsule with 1GB of

2.5 Cakewalk announces upcoming features for Version 2.5 of its
Project5 software synth workstation, including Active Controller

Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts Acquires Audient
Sumo The Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts (LIPA) recently
took delivery of an Audient Sumo analog summing amplifier for its Pro
Tools--based Studio 5 (pictured). LIPA, whose lead patron is Sir Paul
McCartney, was opened in 1996 and offers degree-level training and
