Edirol M-16DX
Edirol's (booth #2664, Hall D) M-16DX is a combo digital mixer,
multi-I/O computer interface and production console packed with effects
and features; with version 2, it now becomes a control surface as well.
The unit features 18 inputs, 24-bit, 96 kHz processing, a 3-band
sweepable EQ, and 3 pro-quality effects. The free v. 2 software includes
Cakewalk Sonar and Apple Logic modes, allowing the unit to be controlled
out of the box with the knobs on the hardware assigning to their
equivalent software controllers, all at the touch of a button.

GCI Technologies Prods From Gemini, Cortex, iKEY Audio
According to GCI Technologies (booth #6966, Hall A), Gemini will be
showcasing many new products at Winter NAMM, including the CDM-3600
professional tabletop dual-deck CD player/audio mixer combo and the
redesigned GX Series of high-efficiency, high-output loudspeakers. Also
onboard will be live gear demonstrations from newcomers to the Gemini
team, Jacqueline Finnan (aka DJ Jacquie Jack) and DJ Journey, who will
spinning their mixes on Gemini's new CDT-05 turntables. The Cortex brand
will be unveiling and demo'ing the DJ industry's first USB-compatible
professional digital music turntable and presenting its rackmountable
HDC line of digital music controllers, including the HDC-1000 and
HDC-3000. Also featured will be an all-in-one digital mixing solution
for the iPod, the DMIX-300, along with newer sibling, the DMIX-600.
iKEY-Audio will be introducing its new M Series line of professional,
self-powered active studio monitors and the iKEY-Plus portable USB
recorder.

P.Audio Systems New Drivers and Horns
P.Audio System (booth #6894, Hall A) will show new offerings in its
range of ultraperformance, low- and high-frequency component drivers and
HF horns. Product highlights include new offerings from the Woofer
Series of LF drivers—including Flagship Series, Challenger Series
II, SN Series II, AM Series, E Series II, and IMF Series II—the
Driver Series, including the BM-D Series II and PreNeo Series, and the
PH-Series of HF horns.

Percussa AudioCubes
Percussa's AudioCubes are a unique and visually intriguing performance
tool that can be used as fully assignable MIDI controllers for music and
multimedia, as well as a stand-alone wireless digital/analog lo-fi sound
generator and processor. When used as a controller, the AudioCubes
translate their physical positioning and proximity (including external
surfaces) to trigger and scalable continuous controller information,
which can be routed via its MIDI Bridge software to other applications,
such as as Ableton Live, Propellerhead Reason, soft synths, plug-in
effects, and physical MIDI devices. In addition to presenting an update
to the MIDI Bridge application and manuals for AudioCubes, Percussa will
demo new sound-generator software that lets you use the cubes without a
computer, to be released as a free download for all AudioCubes users
after the NAMM show.

RapcoHorizon LTI-1
The LTI-1 ($135) stereo interface from RapcoHorizon (booth #4558, Hall
C) is geared for connecting laptops, MP3 players, or any other stereo
3.5 mm audio output to a professional audio mixer. The LTI-1 is equipped
with built-in ground lift switches and a -20 dB pad. It also features
left and right XLR outputs.

Ultrasone PRO, HFI, DJ Lines
Ultrasone (booth #6298) will be introducing the next generation of its
headphones, which feature the patented S-Logic technology. The update
starts with Ultrasone PRO (formerly known as PROline), which includes
the PRO 550, 650, 750, and 2500 models. New features of the Ultrasone
HFI line include the addition of the HFI 580 and 780 (pictured) models
with new S-LogicPlus, the enhanced version of S-Logic based on the
earcup design of Ultrasone's limited-run Edition9 headphones. The
Ultrasone DJ line also features new updates, including S-Logic Plus, MU
metal shielding, aluminum nameplate, and storage/transport updates. All
new models can be heard throughout NAMM during the Ultrasone Mixing
Contest at the company's booth. Contestants will be able to mix the song
"15" by Tooth and Nail recording artists Surrogate using the headphones.
Mixes will be judged by a celebrity panel, with the winner receiving a
pair of Ultrasones of their choice (Edition9 excluded).

Sennheiser's "The Right Mic" (booth #6579) campaign will showcase
numerous musicians. Here's the line-up for Thursday:
multi-instrumentalist Rob Giles, noon and 3 p.m.; singer/songwriter
Jessie Payom 1 p.m. and 4 p.m.; Brett Cain, 1:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m.; and
songwriter Jay Nash, 2 p.m. and 5 p.m.
Marshall Amps will host guitarist Doug Aldrich and other surprise guests
