Yamaha RH10MS Headphones
Featuring Ultrasone’s patented S-Logic technology, Yamaha (www.yamaha.com) has released the RH10MS ($159) professional monitor headphones. On the lighter side, the cans feature a tip o’ the cap to Yamaha’s legacy NS-10 monitor by using white plating on the outer ear cuffs. On the technical side, S-Logic claims to give the listener a unique headphone listening experience by reflecting the signals off the surface of the outer ear in different directions rather than firing the transducer directly at the listener’s inner ear. The effect simulates listening to speakers several feet away and lets listeners perceive the same volume at significantly lower sound pressure. The headphones weigh 265 grams, (excluding the 9-foot cord) and offers 18-21k frequency response, 32-ohm impedance and 96dB sensitivity. They also feature an ergonomic design, a padded band that provides comfort for extended wear and a velour pouch for added protection during storage.

Mix Editors' GDC 2008 Wrap-Up
The 2008 Game Developer’s Conference was at the Moscone Center for the second year in a row, drawing record crowds in excess of 18,000 people. This year was packed, especially on day one, but was laid out in a fashion that all the bugs from last year were ironed out. For instance, the exhibit floor in 2007 was split, but this year everyone was in the same room downstairs in the North Hall, making it easy to get around the exhibits—and there was plenty to see. Eye candy abounds at the GDC and there is never a shortage of dazzling visual imagery to wrap your brain around. MORE
